If you aren’t seeing events in GA4 DebugView after pressing Preview in Google Tag Manager, and you think you’ve set everything up properly, make sure the “Debug Device” dropdown says “Google”. I had mine on “Apple” without realising for days, thinking it was broken. I hope this helps someone!
If you open the GA4 DebugView before starting the GTM preview, you might have to refresh the GA4 DebugView page to get it to appear in the dropdown.
Other things to check:
Measurement ID on page matches the GA property you are looking at.
If you are using GTM, then check the GTM on page matches with the GTM container you believe you are using and that the container contains the GA4 configuration tag with the matching Measurement ID
